This working paper examines the process of music production aimed at integrating traditional Colombian instruments into the electronic subgenre Tech House, based on an experimental approach developed in a home studio. The central objective was the creation of four original compositions, employing contemporary digital production techniques and blending timbres characteristics of the Caribbean and Pacific regions with elements inherent to electronic music.

The project was organized into three stages: pre-production (conceptual design, exploration of sound textures, and selection of indigenous instruments), production (recording of instruments, digital sound design, and integration with electronic resources), and post-production (editing, mixing, and mastering). Despite technical and infrastructural limitations, the outcomes reached a competitive level suitable for digital distribution platforms.

The analysis of results is structured into three dimensions:

Cultural: instruments such as the marimba de chonta, gaitas, and Afro-Colombian percussion are re-signified, promoting their preservation within a contemporary framework.

Technical: the effectiveness of the home studio as a viable and competitive production environment is demonstrated, supported by the strategic use of DAWs, plugins, and digital mixing techniques.

Industrial: a distinctive value is identified in the international Tech House market, through the incorporation of a Colombian identity seal that enriches cultural diversity within global electronic music.

In conclusion, this study confirms that technological democratization enables independent producers to develop proposals of high artistic and cultural value. It also shows that the fusion of global genres with local traditions opens new creative pathways and generates opportunities within the contemporary music industry.
