Design and development of the app “estadística descriptiva unad” as a teaching tool: reflections from theory and praxis in the teaching of statistics in the microterritory
In the context of distance and hybrid higher education, disruptive and exponential technologies offer transformative opportunities to enrich pedagogical mediation with a human, ethical, and contextualized approach. From the perspective of the Unadista Solidario 5.0 Heutagogical Model, tools such as artificial intelligence, virtual assistants, and educational big data should be conceived as means to enhance critical thinking, autonomy, and inclusion in the teaching-learning processes.
Within this research framework, the "EstadísticadescriptivaUNAD" app was developed as a digital tool designed to strengthen the learning of descriptive statistics in micro-territories. This application, compatible with mobile devices and desktop computers (Windows, Linux, iOS), was created in Java and conceived as a virtual learning object that promotes multimodal, collaborative, and emotionally connected educational experiences for students.
The APP not only meets international standards of quality and institutional accreditation, which were considered at the time of its construction, but also aligns with innovative, ethical, and reflective teaching practices. Its implementation seeks to reduce failure and dropout rates by promoting meaningful and sustainable learning. To evaluate its impact, two survey-type instruments were designed, demonstrating their functionality and relevance, demonstrating students' ability to objectively interpret results.
