Alternatives to encourage responsible production and consumption of recyclable solid waste in the city of Sogamoso
For years, there has been an increasing need to generate alternatives to encourage responsible production and consumption of recyclable solid waste in Sogamoso, Boyacá, and several studies have been based on calculations of optimal routes and the layout of collection points, without giving importance to the analysis of risk factors for efficient decision-making and the definition of concrete actions to minimize them. A challenge that is too significant for the optimization of solid waste utilization processes is the identification of the economic, social and environmental risks that currently condition the market and to which the recycling associations of Sogamoso are exposed, in order to define sustainable strategies that mark the route of efficiency in the operations of collection, transportation, selection, storage and marketing.
Research results must meet the needs of optimization and compliance with Sustainable Development Goals SDG11 (Sustainable cities and communities) and SDG12 (Responsible consumption and production) as part of the sustainability of cities, through action plans capable of dealing with fluctuations in material prices, competition in the local and foreign market, general economic conditions, reduced demand; among others that influence the exploitation operations.
