The integration of artificial intelligence in the design of personalized educational systems

Through a qualitative approach and a descriptive-analytical documentary review, this article aimed to analyze how AI influences the personalization of educational systems, exploring various methodologies and applications existing in the educational field. Intelligent tutoring systems and other AI-based tools that facilitate the personalization of learning, adapting content and activities to the individual needs of each student, are highlighted. Likewise, the importance of personalization in current education is discussed and how AI allows for the design of more effective and student-centered educational systems. The ethical challenges and privacy considerations that arise when incorporating AI into personalized education are also addressed, emphasizing the need for responsible and ethical use of technology. Through case studies and practical examples, the positive impact of AI on the effectiveness and personalization of the educational process is illustrated. It is concluded that the integration of AI in the design of personalized educational systems offers a transformative potential for education, provided that the associated ethical and practical challenges are adequately addressed.
