Project management standards and their application in the development of sustainable projects: a reflection on the case study of the construction of water reservoirs in the municipality of Saboyá, Boyacá (Colombia)

The development of sustainable projects involves the analysis of the different areas that compose it: environmental, economic, and social. Project management has made different changes in favor of sustainability and there are several standards that support the planning and organization of projects. Prince2, IPMA, P2M, models such as PSM3 and methodologies P5 and PRISM.

This document illustrates a reflection of the different standards and methodologies and will be compared with the management of a water reservoir construction project in the municipality of Saboyá, Boyacá (Colombia), in which the most appropriate for its application will be determined. The scope is delimited in the review and analysis of documentary information from different recognized databases.
