This article presents advances in the research carried out to know to what extent the development of didactic strategies supported by gamification will allow to control the dropout in Virtual Learning Environments of the UNAD, which aims to establish the various aspects that allow the strengthening of activities and experiences of learning and promote the training of students in the distance modality and virtual methodology. For the development of this project, an agile development methodology based on data mining will be used, in which five specific stages will be taken into account: exploration, identification of variables and categories, development of didactic strategies, piloting stage and finally the validation of the strategy. The execution of this innovative and creative solution is expected to be incorporated into gamified virtual training systems at the National Open and Distance University UNAD.
