Design of a conveyor belt system for the food industry
In the food packaging industry, characterized by high competitiveness and constant dynamism, resource optimization and quality assurance largely depend on the accuracy and efficiency of production processes. In this context, the proposal presented seeks to address a significant challenge in the sector: the automation of the classification system within an existing production line. At present, the factory relies heavily on manual classification, which has resulted in delays, bottlenecks, and an error rate that negatively affects overall productivity.
The initiative is conceived as a comprehensive solution that integrates the principles of industrial automation, process control, and programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, complemented by a human-machine interface (HMI) for monitoring and control. Its main objective is to design and implement an automatic system capable of identifying and redirecting five product categories (A, B, C, D, and E) toward their respective packaging lines with high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
