Performance evaluation of occasional teachers at the National Open and Distance University of CEAD Palmira: an analysis in the context of teleworking
This paper analyzes the impact of teleworking on teaching performance at the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) – CEAD Palmira, in the context of the global crisis caused by the COVID[1]19 pandemic. This phenomenon has led educational institutions to rapidly adapt to new teaching modalities, highlighting the need to reevaluate teachers' working conditions and their effect on the quality of learning. The results reveal that, although teleworking offers flexibility, it also presents significant challenges that affect mental health and teaching performance. Statistics show that the majority of respondents perceive their performance as low in several dimensions, which contrasts with previous research that highlights pedagogical competencies in virtual environments. Furthermore, it is emphasized that factors such as occupational health and safety are essential to optimize teaching performance. The conclusions indicate that it is crucial to implement a performance-oriented management system that considers the balance between work, personal life, and training. The development of technological tools and ongoing training, as well as clear policies on teleworking, are recommended to improve educational quality and teacher well-being, which will also benefit students in their learning experience in the distance learning model.
