Heutagogical model with Ai support for initial guidance in electronic engineering
This paper proposes the design and implementation of an intelligent assistant aimed at preventing the risk of dropout in the first–enrollment course Introduction to Electronic Engineering at UNAD. The proposal is based on the Heutagogical Unadista Solidary Model 5.0, recognizing the importance of supporting students during their initial experiences in higher education. The artificial intelligence system analyzes academic and socio-emotional variables, such as platform access, assignment submission, forum participation, and self-efficacy expressions, in order to generate an early risk index. Based on these results, the tool provides personalized interventions that include virtual tutoring, reinforcement micro-contents, automated reminders, and empathetic messages. In this way, the initiative seeks to strengthen students’ autonomy, motivation, and retention, while also supporting teachers in managing early alerts and timely decisions. This project represents an innovative experience that integrates AI algorithms into the learning process, with academic and social impact in reducing dropout and consolidating autonomous, critical, and solidary learning.
