The participation of women in high-risk labor sectors such as mining, construction, industry, and transportation has increased in recent years, posing new challenges regarding equity, safety, and occupational health. The objective of this study was to analyze the main findings of recent research on women’s labor insertion in these sectors, identifying working conditions, structural barriers, and empowerment strategies that contribute to advancing gender equity. This documentary review included academic articles and institutional reports published between 2020 and 2025 in Latin American contexts, particularly in Chile and Colombia. The results show persistent inequalities in access, remuneration, recognition, and social protection, as well as stereotypes that limit female participation. However, experiences of leadership, collective organization, and resilience highlight the role of women as agents of change. The study concludes that cultural transformation, technical training, and the implementation of gender-sensitive policies are essential to foster inclusive, safe, and sustainable work environments.
