The second UNAD Conference on Distance and Virtual Education: Educational Quality at UNAD: Journeys, Relevance and Future Prospects constituted an academic space aimed at critical reflection on processes of educational transformation, pedagogical innovation, and the strengthening of quality of virtual and distance education settings.  The proceedings of the event bring together research, pedagogical, and administrative initiatives from various academic disciplines at Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), addressing topics related to sustainability, curriculum innovation, teacher training, digital transformation, applied research, social inclusion, technological mediation, and educational foresight. The conference promoted the exchange of knowledge and institutional best practices aimed at addressing contemporary challenges in higher education, particularly within contexts shaped by digital technologies.  It also emphasized the role of research and innovation as key drivers in the development of flexible, inclusive, and contextually relevant educational models. The contributions presented throughout the event underscored the importance of strengthening pedagogical strategies, academic support processes, and mechanisms for technological adoption to enhance teaching and learning in virtual environments.  At the same time, the conference fostered spaces for prospective reflection on the future of virtual education, internationalization, educational quality, and the social impact of higher education institutions. In this regard, the proceedings reflect an institutional commitment to building an innovative and inclusive educational system oriented toward regional and social development.
