Water Quality Assessment and Biological Control in Phytopathology: Advances and Challenges
Water quality and biological control in phytopathology are crucial for environmental health and food security. In this context, the water quality of the Río Suárez in Puente Nacional, Santander, has been assessed to identify contamination factors and their impact on the local population. Simultaneously, the study of biorational alternatives for the control of the phytopathogen Phytophthora infestans, responsible for late blight in potatoes, has led to the exploration of sustainable strategies for crop protection. This paper analyzes the findings of these studies and their relevance to water resource management and food security.
