Biotechnology and Microbial Production: Advances in Astaxanthin, Xerophilic Microorganisms, and Bacterial Nutrition
Microbial biotechnology has enabled significant advances in the production of high-value compounds such as astaxanthin, the study of microorganisms adapted to extreme environments, and bacterial nutrition processes. The production of astaxanthin under stress conditions has been optimized using laboratory-scale bioreactors, facilitating its industrial application. Xerophilic microorganisms from semi-arid regions have demonstrated remarkable adaptability and biotechnological potential. Furthermore, understanding bacterial nutrition and growth is crucial for developing efficient strategies in industrial bioprocesses. This paper analyzes advances in astaxanthin production, the microbiology of extreme environments, and the biochemistry of bacterial growth, highlighting their impact on biotechnology.
