This paper analyzes recent research on infectious diseases and COVID-19 published in the NOVA journal. It discusses studies on the relationship between daily COVID-19 mortality and air quality in seven Colombian cities, the incidence of bacterial coinfections in hospitalized COVID-19 patients, and risk factors associated with post-COVID-19 thromboembolic events. The findings highlight the need for environmental monitoring, secondary infection control strategies, and a multidisciplinary approach to managing post-COVID-19 complications.
