This article presents a comprehensive review and bibliometric analysis of the metabolome in breast milk, differentiating between samples from healthy mothers and those with gestational diabetes. The main metabolites identified, their implications for infant nutrition and development, and emerging trends in breastfeeding research are discussed. The integration of these findings opens new lines of research for optimizing maternal and infant health and for the development of personalized nutritional interventions (1-22).
