This article addresses the challenge of environmental contamination by integrating environmental history and biotechnology. Three studies are analyzed: the transformation of the Middle-Upper Atrato River Basin, the effects of the pandemic on the concentration of particulate matter, and the application of mathematical models for the bioreduction of Cr(VI) using bacterial consortia. The proposal highlights how understanding of the past and technological innovation can converge to design sustainable remediation strategies.(1-24).
