STRENGTHENING THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT THE ANDIAUTOS S.A.S. AUTOMOTIVE TRAINING CENTER: DOCUMENTATION UPDATE, ROAD SAFETY, AND CONTROL OF PRIORITY HAZARDS
Objective. To analyze the professional internship experience carried out at the Andiautos S.A.S. Driving Training Center, aimed at strengthening the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) through document updating, hazard identification, risk assessment, road safety, and emergency preparedness.
Method. The intervention was conducted based on an initial diagnosis of the OSHMS, the evaluation of minimum standards in accordance with Resolution 0312 of 2019, the review and correction of the legal compliance matrix, the updating of the hazard identification and risk assessment matrix, the application of worker surveys, and the structuring of the professional internship work plan. Additionally, support activities were implemented in training, drills, and the consolidation of implementation evidence.
Results. The initial diagnosis showed a moderate level of compliance, with improvement opportunities related to updating the annual work plan, document control, management of occupational medical examinations, formation of emergency brigades, definition of indicators, implementation of safe operating procedures, preparedness for road traffic emergencies, and strengthening of training activities. During the implementation phase, progress was achieved in the development and updating of document control procedures, legal and hazard matrices, procurement and supplier selection procedures, the emergency plan, the design and execution of a road safety drill, sociodemographic characterization tools, visual resources, and the consolidation of supporting evidence.
Conclusion. The professional internship made a significant contribution to the progressive strengthening of the OSHMS, demonstrating improvements in document management, hazard identification and control, and emergency preparedness. However, its sustainability depends on process continuity, adequate resource allocation, follow-up of proposed actions, and the adoption of a preventive culture by workers, instructors, and management.
