Objective. To analyze the professional internship experience carried out at ALVILLA S.A.S., a company in the graphic arts sector located in Bogotá, aimed at strengthening the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) through the intervention of prioritized hazards, document updating, and the development of operational controls. Method. The intervention was based on an initial diagnosis of the OHSMS, including document review, direct observation on the production floor, application of instruments to workers, analysis of the hazard identification, risk assessment and control determination matrix, and the implementation of short-term actions during the internship period. Results. The main results include support in structuring the Road Safety Strategic Plan; verification and labeling of chemical substances according to the Globally Harmonized System; development of Job Safety Analysis formats, work permits, checklists, and procedures for working at heights; chemical risk intervention; inspection of personal protective equipment and good manufacturing practices; analysis of absenteeism; support in accident investigation; inspection of first aid kits; and organization of OHSMS records. These actions strengthened preventive management, improved document traceability, and promoted greater adoption of safe practices in the workplace. Conclusion. The professional internship constitutes a relevant training scenario that enables the integration of technical knowledge with organizational practice, contributing effectively to the strengthening of the OHSMS and to the development of professional competencies focused on occupational risk prevention and continuous improvement of working conditions.
