STRENGTHENING THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT CLÍNICA INTEGRAL DEL SUR S.A.S.: DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT, PREVENTIVE TRAINING, AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEILLANCE FOR IONIZING RADIATION
Objective. To analyze a professional internship experience aimed at strengthening the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) in a healthcare institution, with a focus on ionizing radiation risk management. Method. A practical-applied approach involving direct observation, workplace inspections, OHSMS document review, hazard identification and risk assessment matrix analysis, checklist application, interaction with workers, and participation in institutional activities. Based on the initial diagnosis, improvement actions were prioritized in documentation management, preventive training, and the development of specific tools. Results. Key outcomes include the organization and updating of OHSMS documentation, participation in training and induction processes, support for internal management activities, updating of the hazard matrix, and the design of tools for radiological risk control. These include dosimetric monitoring tools, identification of occupationally exposed personnel, personal protective equipment records, a dosimeter use commitment form, and a dose increase investigation format. Conclusions.
The internship experience contributes to strengthening the preventive approach of the OHSMS by integrating documentary, educational, and technical actions, enhancing radiological risk management and supporting future implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement processes.
