Sustainable financing, through green bonds, ethical banking, and impact funds, represents an opportunity to mitigate financial exclusion, if access mechanisms are adapted to the capacities of the solidarity sector. This research focuses on the municipality of Tumaco, Nariño, a strategic territory home to Colombia’s third most important seaport yet affected by critical social gaps: an unemployment rate of 23.5% (DANE, 2025), and high levels of poverty and informality that lead to inequality and illicit economies. The study seeks to answer: Whatare the differences inaccess tosustainable financing instruments between Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) organizations and the traditional financial system in Tumaco? Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive and analytical scope, the research aims to conduct a comparative analysis between both sectors within the framework of the National Sustainable Finance Strategy. Specific objectives include identifying the regulatory and technical barriers faced by solidarity organizations in the region, comparing the adoption of these instruments against traditional banking, and reviewing the socioeconomic influence of SSE entities within the local context.
