This applied project starts by analyzing the potential of smart cultural tourism as an engine of sustainable development in the town of San Cristóbal, in Flores de Valeria, as a cultural center, identifying the main values ​​and heritage resources, to evaluate the possibilities of their integration into a cultural tourism offer that promotes local identity, income generation and the protection of local property around its ancestral and environmental wealth, all through the application of smart tourism supported by digital platforms.

The smart cultural and environmental tourism project in Flores de Valeria proposes developing a tourist route based on the Fucha River that allows visitors to connect with the local biodiversity and cultural expressions of the region. This proposal seeks to coordinate efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure, design routes and tours, and utilize emerging technologies to encourage visitors to conserve cultural and natural heritage as unique and distinctive experiences.

The Flores de Valeria smart cultural and environmental tourism project represents an exciting opportunity to foster the comprehensive development of the region, leveraging its rich cultural heritage, biodiversity, and the participation of the local community. This analysis has identified that tourism can be a driver of economic, social, cultural, and environmental benefits, provided it is implemented with a sustainable vision, supported by digital platforms, and contributes to strengthening tourism in a regenerative way.
