The different violations, conflictive situations and consequences suffered by women of all ages worldwide have originated a series of reflections from different spheres: political, economic, cultural and educational. This last sphere is the motivation to develop, under the guidance of the Dean of the School of Education Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia - UNAD, Dr. Clara Esperanza Pedraza Goyeneche, an academic event that allows to know the different researches and experiences about the subject; a first reflection is given from Latin America to focus on Colombia: Women in Latin America have been victims of violence in the armed conflict; therefore -as a response to the violence lived- they have chosen to participate in the construction of peace. Colombian women succeeded in including gender mainstreaming in the Final Peace Agreement, so that this action became a historical milestone that invited reflection on the role of women in peace building and on defining the most appropriate educational conditions to strengthen their leadership on the road to lasting and sustainable peace. This question justified this research on education, gender and peace, which set out to design an educational proposal for the construction of healthy, equitable and peaceful gender relations in post-conflict Colombia. (Pedraza, 2020, p. 1)

Thus, the 3rd Permanent International Seminar on Education, Gender and Peace began in 2019, an event that was developed with strategic allies such as the School of Legal and Political Sciences, the Presidential Council for Women's Equity, the South Zone and the Community Psychosocial Research and Action Center - CIAPSC-, this was the first face-to-face and virtual scenario for academic reflection on the gender perspective in education, public policies and the peace agreement through the socialization of research and experiences, joined by experts, academic authorities, representatives of the public sector, as well as leaders of organizations and movements that work in favor of gender equality.
