11th Meeting of the Colombian Network of Research in Social Sciences Didactics
The proceedings of the 11th Meeting of the Colombian Network for Research in Social Sciences Didactics (REDCIDS) compile presentations and reflections focused on conflict, coexistence and peace education in contexts of uncertainty. The document is based on a common concern: the low impact that, in many cases, social, historical and geographical education has had on the understanding of the present and on the construction of citizenship, and raises questions about how conflict is represented in curricula and teaching practices, what experiences favor its understanding as a phenomenon inherent to human interaction, and what concrete contributions social science education can offer to democratic culture and peace.
The text organizes the contributions into thematic axes that address, among other issues: the teaching and learning of history, geography, social sciences and citizenship education; the curriculum and teaching of social sciences; and teacher education in the 21st century. Through these axes, the presentations explore conceptual frameworks, educational experiences and didactic proposals that establish a dialog with socially relevant problems, with special attention to the links between school, territory, participation and peace building
