4th International Conference of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

The proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CICAA 2022) bring together research focused on contemporary issues related to climate change, environmental sustainability, food security, and sustainable agricultural production. The event, organized by the School of Agricultural, Livestock, and Environmental Sciences at Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), provided spaces for scientific dissemination and academic exchange on adaptation and mitigation strategies aimed at addressing environmental and productive challenges within the agricultural sector. The compiled research addresses topics related to integrated pest management, agroecology, biodiversity conservation, crop sustainability, environmental monitoring, food security and sovereignty, clean production, ecosystem services, agricultural microbiology, and the sustainable use of natural resources. In addition, the volume presents studies focused on agroforestry systems, ecological restoration, ecosystem characterization, water quality analysis, and agro-industrial innovation strategies designed to strengthen rural development. The contributions demonstrate the application of experimental methodologies, interdisciplinary approaches, and technologies intended to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of agricultural and environmental production systems. The conference strengthened collaboration among researchers, students, producers, and communities, fostering the social appropriation of knowledge and the development of applied solutions to territorial challenges.
