Conference on research in graduate education
This document compiles the proceedings of the Conference on Research in Graduate Education: Balance and Projections 2022, organized by the International Network of Graduate Programs (REINPED) in collaboration with universities and academic networks across Latin America. The volume presents reflections and research focused on graduate education, faculty professional development, educational research, creativity, hybrid education, and contemporary challenges in higher education.
The contributions are developed through quantitative, qualitative, and interpretive approaches, addressing topics related to character education, emotional intelligence, student well-being, creativity, curriculum studies, gender coloniality, the teaching of philosophy, pedagogical research, and educational transformations emerging from the pandemic. The papers emphasize the need to strengthen comprehensive, critical, and interdisciplinary pedagogical models capable of responding to the technological and social contexts of the 21st century.
Likewise, the volume underscores the role of academic and research networks in consolidating pedagogical and didactic knowledge and in promoting international exchange among higher education institutions in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Uruguay. The proceedings also recognize the contributions of educational research to understanding the complexities of educational phenomena, strengthening research training, and integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into academic curricula.
In addition, the volume includes analyses of faculty professional development, the evaluation of research groups, contemporary methodologies, educational technologies, hybrid teaching modalities, and current perspectives on graduate education. Within this framework, research is presented as a central pillar of educational innovation, pedagogical reflection, and the transformation of academic practices in changing contexts.
