2nd International virtual symposium on philosophy and education
The proceedings of the 2nd International Virtual Symposium on Philosophy and Education (SIVFE 2021) bring together academic contributions aimed at critical reflection on the relationship between philosophy, education and citizenship in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, developed in virtual modality, was put together around the thematic axis of "Emerging citizenship in times of pandemic", on the occasion of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy program at the Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD). The compiled papers are organized into six lines of work that address ethics and values in contexts of crisis, the role of educational institutions in citizenship formation, the teaching of philosophy in educational scenarios mediated by digital technologies, the new social movements in Latin America and emerging forms of citizenship. Contributions include theoretical analyses, philosophical reflections, case studies and situated pedagogical experiences, with interdisciplinary approaches that integrate philosophy, pedagogy, social sciences and education. Methodologically, the texts deal with critical, humanistic and formative perspectives, examining issues such as ethical responsibility, citizen participation, education for democracy, technological mediation and the transformation of educational practices. Taken together, the proceedings offer a pluralistic academic overview of the contemporary challenges of citizenship education and philosophical education in contexts of global crisis.
