The Sports Management program of UNAD has consolidated a research proposal that promotes cycling as an active and sustainable mobility strategy. For nearly two years, a participatory dialog has been fostered with governmental entities, environmental corporations and citizens in the municipality of Fusagasugá and the Sumapaz region with a view to developing the necessary inputs to build a public policy needed to address various issues such as the environmental crisis, the protection of bicycle users and the construction of a citizen culture. Starting from its integrating core, the social management of sports, the program has developed a conglomerate of high impact academic and social outreach productions that have allowed it to lead processes of regional development and sustainable community action in the province of Sumapaz.
