Children are the best researchers, a unad strategy to train proactive generations
Children are innate investigators, because in their ambition to discover their reality, they pry carefully, make tests and draw their conclusions. IMANAY is a research seedbed for children, created with the objective of encouraging observation and knowledge of the environment, instilling respect for nature and putting into context the different environmental problems that are generated by inappropriate human activities. The actions carried out and recognized at the regional level are presented on two fronts: The first front is environmental education for children on ecosystem services in the Colombian Massif, in alliance with rural educational institutions, with the support of students belonging to environmental organizations and the Regional Autonomous Corporation. The second front is to consolidate educational material, built and validated with children; the construction of the book Participatory Environmental Education for children: environmental services as a conservation strategy is presented as a specific result and it is endorsed by the UNAD publishing house. The IMANAY seedbed clearly allows the accompaniment of formative processes that are generated in the construction of learning for life for the children, constituting 4 projects with 7 participants of the UNAD academic community, and children, who strengthened knowledge and modeled themselves to form future researchers.
