This paper presents research focused on analyzing the discursive, philosophical, and political foundations of the former FARC-EP and its transition to a political party in the post-peace-agreement context of Colombia.

The study arises from a research call funded by Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), focused on understanding the ideological foundations that shaped the organization’s political program and analyzing how recognizing these elements can contribute to the reconstruction of the social fabric, reconciliation, and forgiveness in post-agreement scenarios.

This research employed an analytical and interdisciplinary approach that combined a literature review, philosophical-political analysis, and the creation of academic forums for expert dialogue. Project activities included specialized forums, television interviews, the production of academic articles, student participation in thesis projects, and the publication of a research book addressing categories related to the armed conflict, political participation, and peace processes in Colombia. Likewise, the study incorporated reflections from educommunication experiences and hermeneutic analyses of the training practices developed within the FARC-EP

The findings identified ideological and discursive elements associated with political participation, social inclusion, popular education, and peacebuilding in the FARC-EP’s transition from an armed organization to a political party. These academic activities fostered critical debate on reconciliation, the implementation of peace agreements, historical memory, and democratic dialogue scenarios in Colombia. Notable outputs include an academic forum on the challenges of the post-agreement era, interviews with national and international experts, a specialized article on philosophical and political perspectives of the peace process, and the book FARC-EP:  From Armed Wing to Political Wing. Commons.

The study recognizes academic research as a vital mechanism for strengthening inclusion, memory-building, and a culture of peace, and for fostering a critical understanding of the Colombian armed conflict. The proposal emphasizes the need to promote educational and philosophical frameworks that analyze the political, social, and discursive transformations brought about by the post-agreement era and national reconciliation processes.
