The proceedings of the International Conference "Experience the Sustainable City:  Building Eco-Friendly Homes from Your University" bring together reflections, research, and academic experiences focused on environmental sustainability, education for sustainable development, the transformation of cities, and the creation of institutional models committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event was organized in partnership between Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), Universidad del Rosario, and Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, with support from the Higher Education Development Fund (FODESEP).

The document begins by presenting the opening remarks of the presidents of the participating universities, who highlight the need to strengthen the role of higher education institutions as active agents in sustainability management, social innovation, and the development of environmental citizenship. It emphasizes the importance of integrating research, education, and social outreach with global challenges related to climate change, urban sustainability, and ecosystem protection. It also highlights the universities' commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the incorporation of the SDGs into academic, research, and administrative processes.

The proceedings are organized into various thematic symposia related to education and research for sustainability, eco-friendly homes, sustainable entrepreneurship, urban mobility, eco-innovation, conscious consumption, and territorial transformation. Among the experiences presented are pedagogical strategies for building territorial and environmental identity, redefining family involvement in school environmental projects, strengthening research competencies in the circular economy, and proposals for integrating environmental education into university curricula. The proceedings also document studies on sustainable mobility, robotics using recyclable materials, eco-technologies, renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and the social engagement with knowledge for the sustainable development of territories.

Similarly, the lectures analyze contemporary issues related to the pandemic, sustainable mining, environmental conservation, agroecological production, and socio-environmental entrepreneurship. The collection of works demonstrates an interdisciplinary approach that integrates education, innovation, community participation, and environmental management as pillars for promoting sustainable cities and responsible development models within university and territorial contexts. The proceedings thus constitute a space for academic dissemination and institutional coordination aimed at strengthening a culture of sustainability and the formation of citizens committed to environmental stewardship and social transformation.
