Relevance of simulation tools in university training for performance in the workplace
In knowledge societies, the ability to store, organize and filter information in large volumes from multiple sources requires the respective treatment to obtain relevant data that are useful in making objective decisions, based on arguments that allow the management of risk and uncertainty in organizations. Along these lines, the comprehensive academic formation of the students of the School of Administrative, Accounting, Economic and Business Sciences of the UNAD includes the use of technological tools in the development of the practical component of academic courses, where students implement software for data mining, simulation, processing and analysis of information, strengthening vital skills for the competitiveness of the organizations of which they are or will be part. However, technological advances bring with them labor challenges, and it is necessary to inquiry into the relevant tools for decision making that can be implemented in academic training processes. To achieve this, a mixed research has been applied, resorting to documentary research and the application of a survey to 264 students and graduates of ECACEN Western Zone, the result of which was the relevance in labor matters of tools that support the professional practice.
